Hi everyone! Welcome to the Eat Like Me blog! I'm Emma- a Nutrition major & kind of a health nut! I'm really into eating healthy & nourishing my body. It amazes me how much food can really affect your life and change the way you feel. I've been into healthy eating since I was a teen and I wanted to share my interest with all of you! I'll admit that I have days when I do not make the best food choices but my goal is to just get back on track and stay healthy as often as I can. Oatmeal w/ raisins & almonds (breakfast 10.7.10)

I made a bowl of oatmeal this morning because the cold, damp weather made me want a nice warm breakfast. I bulked it up with raisins for sweetness, and almond slivers for protein/healthy fat. It was a nice change from my usual bowl of cereal, and filled me up pretty well. I also had a banana and a cup of coffee. I love coffee, but I don't want to get in the habit of drinking it every morning the way I used to. I was doing good for a while but the cold weather just makes it so hard to resist. Maybe I'll try to switch it up with tea every now and then so I don't get hooked on it. Anyway, for my late morning/early afternoon snack I packed a Kashi Granola Bar and a small bag of pretzels. I had wanted to bring a string cheese for some protein instead of pretzels, but of course I realized when I was leaving that they were all gone. Just my luck!
